Adopt First Centre

The issue of pet abandonment has been prevalent and ongoing in Malaysia as well as other countries all over the world. A large number of harmless and innocent animals are subjected to this terrible fate every year, often undergoing cruel treatments. In 2009, PLC took it upon themselves to organise a fundraising drive to help the cause of pet abandonment. PLC as a renowned name in the pet industry has also been conducting annual dry food donation drives since 2010 at The Pet Safari located in IPC Shopping Centre.

In 2014, supported by PAWS & other animal organizations, PLC has decided to push this initiative to a whole new level. For a start, a permanent, commercial space in SS2 Central measuring 125 sq. ft. has been allocated to serve as a permanent adoption centre for these abandoned pets so that animal welfare groups will have a designated location to run adoption drives. The Adopt 1st! Centre, which opened in July 2014, is indeed an unprecedented initiative in the pet industry and will strive to aid the cause of combating pet abandonment.
